Issy's Fruit Tea

Issy’s Fruit Tea – in a pot

Issy is my friend’s daughter, she is also my friend. She is absolutely, no doubt, my favourite 16 year old. Issy inspires me to be myself and to be creative.

Every time I see this gorgeous girl she is making something new and wearing something effortlessly cool. Today, she had made fruit tea.

Issy’s fruit tea

  • Handful of mint leaves – oven dry for 15 minutes
  • 2 oranges, 1 lemon, 1 baby fennel, Ginger (to taste) – oven dry for 45 minutes
  • Store bought dried craisons, apple, apricot, added to oven mix 10 mins before end.
  • Mix in jar and add stick of cinnamon and the contents of 2 camomile tea bags.

Natural Hair Treatment

Natural Hair Treatment

We were inspired by this pin on Pinterest. It’s said to increase scalp circulation, loosens up dry and itchy scalp. It also removes residue from your everyday shampoo and conditioner.

All you need...

All you need…

4 x tablespoons coconut oil
2 x tablespoons lemon juice
1 x tablespoon grapefruit juice

– mix mix mix
– apply to dry hair. Scalp only and start at the top of your head
– massage in with your fingertips and leave in for 20 minutes. We left it for an hour
– rinse out and shampoo and condition as per normal

We tried it and it definitely loosened up the dry scalp that historically never went away – 2 weeks later it hasn’t come back. It also left our hair feeling so clean! We felt it was a little heavy on our fair hair and it took a few washes to not have oily feeling hair. That’s just a minor setback and we highly recommend you try it – especially if you have lovely thick hair!

Give it a go and don’t forget to tell us how it goes for you 🙂

Take care, until next time…keep restyling!

Hi everyone – it’s Renee here for this post.

Many years ago, my friends and I would play ‘The handbag game’. All us girls would rummage around our handbags, searching for things starting with each letter of the alphabet. The girl with the most letters won. It was a completely pointless game, but it entertained us during many boring moments, waiting for public transport, a round of drinks or filling lapses in conversation.

So today I played ‘The handbag game’ with my work bag…..

I’m pleased to find that 10 years later, my bag no longer holds many of the questionable items it used to, however I clearly haven’t learned how to tidy my bag out regularly.

Here’s my list (some creative licence allowed):

  1. Apple phone case
  2. Black scarf
  3. Cough drops
  4. Drugs (completely legal and boring I’m afraid)
  5. Eclipse gum
  6. Fan
  7. Green nail polish
  8. Hair clips, ties and pins
  9. Inhaler
  10. Jupiter saxophone mouthpiece
  11. Keys
  12. Lip gloss
  13. Max Factor lipstick
  14. Napolean Perdis powder compact
  15. Orange nail polish
  16. Pencil case
  17. Quick fix instrument repair kit
  18. Rhythm restoration business cards
  19. Sunglasses
  20. Triangle beater
  21. Used spoon
  22. Vandoren reeds
  23. Wallet
  24. Xtra pens and pencils
  25. Yellow post it notes
  26. Zovirax

Have a great day everyone!
