You could say that Renee is pretty well known for her nails! She’s always trying new and exciting things with them. Sometimes they are the only pop of colour in her all black ensemble 🙂

This week her nails have a side of caviar to see what it looked like. The lovely Karen at Burnside Beauty & Nails used Ciaté Caviar polish in black pearl for this design. Karen hasn’t used it before so they were both experimenting.

This design was done on her right hand which is her dominant hand and her pen would sit against the inside of that nail, which is how she thinks she lost most of the caviar balls. Other than that, they have lasted much better than she was expecting.

Next time she’ll ask Karen to apply it thicker and Renee will just have to avoid any handwriting while she’s wearing it 🙂

Hi everyone!

It’s Amour here today for this post. I’m now in Davao City, Philippines for work. So while I’m here my husband and I went to check out the local Gaisano Ukay-ukay.

Gaisano Ukay-ukay

So what is Ukay-ukay – you might be asking? It is a Filipino provincial term meaning ‘to mix up’. Here is the definition straight from Urban Dictionary – “a term used for places that sell secondhand goods (such as clothing, shoes, bags, furniture, etc.) at dirt cheap prices usually shipped from the US Salvation Army to third world countries like the Philippines.”

When we got there it was still daylight but within 10 minutes the dark had crept in. This made it harder to dig around cause there wasn’t much lighting. Plus I had to be careful where I stepped as there were random holes and cement blocks in my path!

For under $10 AUD I was able to get 12 items – all t-shirts and singlets for restyling later.

With a little creativity and a crossing of the fingers we have ended up with this little number…

All we did was position a paper doily – rubbed a foam roller in fabric paint – roll roll roll – and there you have it – pretty design for a pretty white T.

Next week we will be bringing you another t shirt restyle – we just haven’t found it yet 🙂 Amour will be hitting the Filipino ukay ukay stores in Davao City Philippines in search of t shirts needing a restyle.

It’s another happy Monday everyone! Last week we posted Amour’s brooch from her wedding bouquet.

Being that tomorrow in Australia is the Melbourne Cup we thought we would go with the theme – so a restyled fascinator it is 🙂

Fascinator Restyle

Not the best picture – but Amour’s sister-in-law will be wearing it tomorrow for her day at the races – so better pictures to follow tomorrow 🙂 You may also notice that the brooch looks a little different – that’s because at the last-minute Amour couldn’t part with her brooch – but a substitute was found.
