Fascinator Restyle

Our client Kadyn was looking for a fascinator to go with his outfit for a costume party. As we had worked on the Dreamcatcher Restyle for him he came to us for help.

The flowers are made from a dressing gown and put together with some leftover feathers from a previous Fascinator Restyle. Luckily for us it was the same colour combination!

Another successful restyle and Kadyn continues to be a happy customer 🙂 Here’s a picture of Kadyn fully transformed into Miss Vida Boem!

Thanks again Kadyn for your continuous support!

Take care, until next time…keep restyling!

Jasmine in her T’s

Normally we would do this type of restyle on something second hand. Due to being so busy over the holiday period we just got the Tshirt from Kmart. These basic Tshirts were only $3 each! Say it with me – BARGAIN!

Original Tee from Kmart

Original Tee from Kmart

The first one was embellished with Burnt Flowers made from pajama pants. The same pajama pants were previously used in our PJ restyle.

The second one was printed in an ombre style whilst using a paper doily as a stencil. We did this previously in the baby white T restyle.

We think Jasmine loves how they turned out! Her mummy loves them too 🙂

Tell us about any Tshirt restyles you have done. We’d love to be inspired by your ideas!

Tin can restyle…

Once upon a time a pasta sauce was made and all that was left behind were these lonely little cans 😦

We found some scrap material and ribbon from our stash…

We made some glue then put it all together. Ta da! What do you think of our restyle?

Have you done any projects from empty tin cans? Please share them with us 🙂

Take care, until next time, keep restyling!

Mischa with dreamcatcher restyle

Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a great time partying with your loved ones – we sure did!

Our client Kadyn wanted a gift for his mother in law that represented one of the loves of his life – his pet parrot – Oliver Tweet 🙂

The end result was Oliver’s fallen feathers worked into a dreamcatcher.

Made by Love Notes Restyle Studio

Isn’t Oliver just the cutest?

We love how it turned out! What do you think of our restyle?

Thank you for supporting us Kadyn!

Hi, it’s Amour here. Happy Saturday!

When we decided to start Love Notes Restyle Studio we were looking for a platform to host and share our creativity. In order to put ourselves out there more we started this blog. We are still very new to this world and we have learnt a lot so far!

In looking at other blogs we came across A Beautiful Mess – I love their DIY‘s – lots of photos that make them so easy to follow. I started reading their past posts to get to know more of what they are about. As I was doing this I was feeling so inspired and I’m loving the cheery vibe of their posts! In doing all of this I found that they offer e-courses – so I signed up for their Blog Love – an e-course for bloggers!

A Beautiful Mess

I have finished it now and wanted to let you know that I loved it! If you are new to blogging or just want to take your blog to another level I suggest you check it out. It’s only $34 and well worth every bit of it!

It was so comforting to be introduced to ALL of the information out there about blogging in a clear and concise way. It was also refreshing to get more insight into the creators of A Beautiful Mess and their sister businesses.

Just putting it out there – this post isn’t sponsored in any way. I just found something that I personally found valuable and wanted to share that with ya’ll 🙂

Click on the link to take you to the E-course library – A Beautiful Mess E-courses. I plan to do the Dream Job E-course next 🙂

Take care, until next time…keep restyling!

DIY Posy Flower – we call it ‘The Burnt Flower’

07 Friday Dec 2012

We first saw the Posy Pin Tutorial by Grace Laced in the beginning of our life with Pinterest.

They are so easy to make and are our favourite of the DIY flowers. The end result is always very elegant and doesn’t look cheaply made at all. We have also found many great ways to use them – from headbands, to tank top embellishment and various other restyles.

Here is our tutorial on how to make ‘The Burnt Flower’. It’s our first one, so we are  open to any feedback you have so that our future tutorials are easy to understand and full of FUN!

Flower - Tools

Flower – Tools

You start with circles of polyester fabric (like satin or organza) – around 3 – 4 different sizes (and around 2-3 pieces of each size) depending how ‘full’ you want your flower to look. It doesn’t have to be neat and perfect – the messier the better!

You will then need a candle and lighter – in the picture we have a normal candle (it is all we had) – but normally we would use a tea light candle. It’s easier to manage the flame. For your first few times you will want to have a small bowl of water nearby in case of any out of control fires.

Step 1 - burn edges

Step 1 – burn edges

Step 2 - burn centre

Step 2 – burn centre

Step 3 - assembly time

Step 3 – assembly time

With this flower we used a button (again all we had on hand) but you can use any sort of bead as well or a clump of beads. We’ve even used an old earring before!

Final product - The Burnt Flower

Here’s a few links to Pinterest of how we’ve used this little gem in different ways.

Polka Dot Dress Flowers

Pajama Pants Flowers

Disco Shoes Flowers

Necklace Flowers

Bracelet Flowers

Flowers for Headbands

You were warned that we loved them! Hope you enjoyed our first tutorial. What’s your favourite DIY flower?

Take care, until next time…keep restyling!

Inspire Me Monday! – Singlet Restyle or Epic Fail

Davao City, Philippines, restyle, singlet, ukay ukay

Yes we know its Wednesday – Let’s not talk about the lack of Monday that it is 🙂

So this week we decided to restyle a singlet that was recently purchased at the Gaisano Ukay-ukay.

Here are the before and after shots – Similar to our last restyle it was made by painting around some paper doilies. This time we used a smaller doily and layered them with the use of blue and purple fabric paint.

Singlet Restyle Project

We think it didn’t turn out quite as planned but there is a messy cuteness to it – What do you think? Restyle success or epic fail?

Happy Monday to all!

Last week we presented you with our new project the Baby White T Restyle! Here’s the before shot…

Made by Love Notes Restyle Studio

Baby White T Restyle Project – BEFORE

With a little creativity and a crossing of the fingers we have ended up with this little number…

Made by Love Notes Restyle Studio

Baby White T Restyle Project – AFTER

All we did was position a paper doily – rubbed a foam roller in fabric paint – roll roll roll – and there you have it – pretty design for a pretty white T.

What do you think of our little restyle?

Next week we will be bringing you another t shirt restyle – we just haven’t found it yet 🙂 Amour will be hitting the Filipino ukay ukay stores in Davao City Philippines in search of t shirts needing a restyle.

Take care, until next time…keep restyling!
